Jessica and John’s New York City engagement session HAS to be one of my favorite and most fun engagement sessions that I’ve been a part of to date! Between the iconic locations of the Big Apple and the chemistry between these two there’s just so much to love.
Jessica found me through my Instagram and found out through my stories that I was going to be traveling to New York in the Spring. She messaged me on Insta and asked if I’d be willing to photograph her and John’s engagement session in New York, how could I say no?! I love New York as there’s so many iconic locations and it’s the city that never sleeps so there’s always something going on! Jessica and John are also some of the most down to earth and laid back people I’ve met, so being able to adventure around the city with them was such a treat!
We started off our engagement session at Grand Central Station which is one of the many iconic spots for photos in New York City. Grand Central station is in a ton of different movies and shows (including my fav Gossip Girl!), so being able to be there in person and experience it first hand for a session was an incredible experience. The architecture of Grand Central Station is beautiful and there’s so much history in the walls which made this the perfect starting spot for our session. We then headed out into the streets of New York for some photos of Jessica and John walking the streets with the Empire State Building in the background. I loved being able to capture these two and the love they share for each other in the city they call home!
We then made our way over to New York City’s massive and iconic Central Park for the next part of our engagement session. The walk from Grand Central Station to Central Park took only about 25 minutes, but since New York is so dense we were able to see SO much in that short amount of time which was amazing to see first hand. Once in the park we got some photos of Jessica and John dancing in the park and sitting with each other on one of the staircases. I even got John to dip Jessica at the same spot Chuck Bass and Blair Waldorf did during their wedding in Gossip Girl which had me SO hyped!
For the last part of our session we headed to the Brooklyn Bridge which was the spot Jessica was looking forward to most, and you can totally see why! The view that you get of New York City from the bridge is jaw dropping and the perfect backdrop for an engagement session. Going to so many different iconic locations made for an amazing session, but the locations themselves are always busy so we had to get a little creative to avoid having too many people in the background of their photos. I think we pulled it off pretty well though!
Jessica and John’s engagement session in New York was a literal dream come true and I’m so happy that Jess found my Insta and reached out when she did! These two were so much fun to work with and their session is the undisputed top highlight of my trip. Now that I got a taste of New York City I would LOVE to photograph an elopement in the city, so if you’re planning a New York elopement and need a photographer head to my contact page so we can get to planning!
