There is SO much to love about Chicago. Between the street fests, the incredible food, the people, and the amazing locations filled with things to do throughout the Windy City it’s a pretty easy place to love! One of my favorite things about Chicago as a wedding photographer though is just how many amazing intimate wedding venues there are throughout the city. Seriously as much as I’d like to, it’d be impossible to list out every intimate wedding venue the city has to offer, so I decided to bring the list down to my six favorite spots in the city. Let’s check them out!

Lytle House

This intimate family-owned wedding venue in Edgewater made for up to 80 people is the perfect spot for those looking for a centralized space to host your guests for a low-key evening celebrating your marriage!  The Lytle House only hosts one event an evening, so you’ll have access to the indoor spaces, outdoor courtyard, a photobooth and pull-in accessibility for food trucks and catering trucks. The wedding venue is the perfect space for an intimate evening celebration in Chicago with you and your lover and your closest people all together. Having both an indoor and outdoor space available for use is great as well as you can get a bit of variety in your setting as well as have a backup plan in case the Chicago weather wants to act up a bit!

The Arbory

This industrial warehouse in Chicago’s West Town is a perfect venue for both large and intimate weddings, as the Arbory can host up to 185 guests comfortably. The former warehouse turned wedding venue has been beautifully preserved and decorated, giving you a gorgeous space for your wedding day. Create a more intimate day using their farmhouse tables for smaller gatherings in their beautiful reception space that has these incredible brick walls throughout. The wide open reception space gives you a lot of possibilities when it comes to decorating as well making this wedding space perfect if you’re looking to get a little more creative with your decorations!

Loft Lucia

A combination of indoor and outdoor spaces all on a rooftop in Chicago’s West Loop makes this a really awesome venue for an intimate wedding.  Loft Lucia is the perfect space for both cocktail hour style receptions as well as sit down receptions. The loft has this incredibly open feel due to its huge windows and rooftop terrace making your reception feel spacious yet intimate for your wedding. The venue comes equipped with an incredible kitchen and is BYOB with two indoor bars available for you to use. The venue gives you a ton of flexibility with what you do for your day thanks to the multiple spaces and all the options that Loft Lucia offers!

City View Loft

This indoor wedding venue located near Chicago’s West Town gives you an incredible view of the city for your wedding day. City View Loft has an indoor ceremony space as well as a reception space giving you SO much room to work with for your wedding. The high ceilings and tons of natural light make the loft feel larger than life and give you tons of options when it comes to how you decorate the space for your wedding. City View Loft is also BYOB friendly and comes with a bar and on-site catering kitchen for your wedding day as well as other amenities. City View Loft is an incredible option for an intimate wedding venue with lots of room for personalization and a gorgeous view of Chicago.

Firehouse Chicago

The Firehouse Chicago located in Edgewater is one of the most fun intimate wedding venues that I’ve come across in the Windy City. The old firehouse now wedding venue has a TON of amenities including furniture, lighting options, bars, decorations, and so much more. There’s both an indoor and outdoor space as well giving you a ton of flexibility for your wedding day, and did I mention they have a functional fireman pole that you can use as well?! Firehouse Chicago is such an incredible space and has SO much included in their wedding day packages that it easily makes this list one of my favorite venues in the city!

The Joinery 

The Joinery, located on the edge of Chicago’s Logan Square, is a wedding venue with a rich history that has an incredible rustic feel and vibe to it. The venue has beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces decorated with relics of the building’s past while also having enough space for you to add decorations of your own. There’s a main space indoors that can be used for either a ceremony or reception and an outdoor space for your ceremony or for guests to mingle. The venue also has getting ready rooms, a speakeasy, and other rooms decorated and dedicated to the building’s storied past. If you’re looking for an intimate wedding venue in Chicago that is both stunning in how it looks and its history, The Joinery is the place to be!
