Classy Wedding at Voco Hotel in Chicago | Kaila and Frank
Kaila and Frank’s October wedding is the perfect example of what a classy and fun wedding day in downtown Chicago can look like! I had the pleasure of photographing their engagement session, and from that point on I had been looking forward to their wedding day. Safe to say that their wedding festivities at Voco Hotel in downtown Chicago did NOT disappoint! I can’t wait to share the highlights of their day with you all, and believe me there’s a LOT of highlights!
Starting Their Wedding Day
Both Kaila and Frank started off their downtown Chicago wedding day by getting ready with the help and company of their friends and family in their hotel rooms. These two made sure to surround themselves with those they care about most before the start of their day which is THE perfect way to kick off your wedding day! Once ready both Kaila and Frank made their way out to the Riverwalk for their first look. Having their first look on the Chicago Riverwalk was incredible and felt like a full circle moment as part of their engagement session also took place here! The two could not have had more perfect weather for their day as we had some gorgeous sunshine to work with while taking their portraits. After a few couples portraits we headed to the iconic Union Station for portraits with their wedding parties.
Portraits and a Ceremony
Kaila and Frank made it a priority to have their wedding party portraits and newlywed portraits done prior to their reception. This was so that they could maximize their time at their cocktail hour, enjoying themselves with their guests, and I am SO here for it! The ever gorgeous Union Station in Chicago was the perfect spot for their portraits. Both inside and out, Union Station has such a historic and elegant style to it that fit the feel of Kaila and Frank’s wedding day to a T! After portraits were done it was time to head to St Michael Church which kept with the theme of historic elegance. Kaila and Frank chose to have a traditional wedding ceremony at St Michael’s, after which it was time for a bubble exit, and for us to make our way to Voco Hotel in downtown Chicago for their cocktail hour and reception!
Wedding Reception at Voco Hotel in Downtown Chicago
Voco Hotel in downtown Chicago was a dream wedding venue for Kaila and Frank’s day for a number of reasons. The first being that the ballroom space looks out over the Chicago river and skyline giving you the perfect setting to work with for your festivities. That combined with a large open dancefloor, which would come in handy later, and the freedom they allow for your wedding decor made for the wedding celebration that Kaila and Frank both envisioned for their day. The two kept the classy and elegant theme rolling with their reception decor looking as though it came straight from one of Gatsby’s parties! Their evening was filled with amazing speeches, moments with their friends and family, and of course a LOT of dancing!
Capturing and documenting Kaila and Frank’s downtown Chicago wedding at the Voco Hotel and St Michael Church was a literal dream come true! These two are so full of love and joy, and so it comes as no surprise that their wedding day shared these same features throughout!
