Chicago Wedding Venue Feature: Voco Hotel

Chicago is home to a WIDE array of incredible wedding venues, many of which I’ve featured in past articles! Some venues though are extra special to me, and deserve a full on feature article since there’s just SO much to love about them. Fairlie was the first wedding venue in Chicago to receive this treatment, and now it’s time for the wonderful Voco Hotel! The Voco Hotel is a stunning and elegant wedding venue found in the heart of Chicago, giving your wedding a one of a kind setting surrounded by the astounding views of the Windy City. Without further ado, let’s dive into the Voco Hotel and see what all makes this wedding venue one you must consider for your wedding day in Chicago!

Welcome to the Voco Hotel in Chicago

You may recognize this venue from the blog as it was the reception space of Kaila and Frank’s classy wedding day! Their wedding day is about as perfect of an example that you can get of what makes Voco Hotel an ideal venue for your wedding. The hotel itself has a fantastically elegant style to it, and that combined with the views of Chicago gives you and your guests a jaw dropping setting to celebrate your wedding. The Voco Hotel is more than just its looks though! It has multiple spaces for different sized wedding days, a variety of amenities for its couples to enjoy, a fantastic location in Chicago, and more.

What Size Weddings Can the Voco Hotel Host?

The Voco Hotel has 4 separate spaces for couples to choose from, each with its own guest limit and purpose, which allows any wedding to feel perfect here, big or small! First up is the LaSalle room which is the smallest of the 4 and can fit up to 150 guests. While this is still space for plenty of people, it also works surprisingly well for an intimate reception. The next two spaces are attached to one another, the Wolf Point Pre Function and Wolf Point Ballroom. The pre-function space is, as the name suggests, a space that can be added onto a booking of the Wolf Point Ballroom to be used for dinner, cocktail hour, or extra reception space. The pre-function space can fit 240 guests, while the ballroom can fit an additional 240 seated, or 500 standing guests!

The 4th and final space of the Voco Hotel is the Sauganash Ballroom. This ballroom is an ideal space for couples looking to have a MASSIVE celebration for their wedding in the heart of Chicago! The space can fit up to 530 seated guests, or 800 standing guests. All 4 spaces offer floor to ceiling windows for your and your guests to enjoy the stunning views of Chicago throughout your celebration. You can opt to have your ceremony at another location like Kaila and Frank did for their wedding, but you can opt to have it at the Voco Hotel if you’d prefer to keep everything in one place!

What Sort of Amenities Does the Voco Hotel Offer?

In addition to its fantastic setting and style, the Voco Hotel offers a LOT in terms of amenities for a wedding venue in Chicago! For starters, the staff of the Voco Hotel are all exceptional and work to provide you with the best possible experience on your wedding day. They also offer planning assistance and coordination for their couples. The catering and bar service is also top of the line, seriously they have some of the best wedding food I’ve had hands down! There is a bridal suite that can be used as a getting ready space, and they even offer rentals if you’re looking to keep things in house for your wedding décor! Voco Hotel really tries to take everything off your plate so that you can enjoy your wedding to the fullest, something that I am ALL about!

What Portrait Opportunities are There Nearby?

Really the only thing that Voco Hotel lacks is an outdoor space for wedding portraits, but thanks to the location of the hotel that isn’t even an issue! When I say the hotel is in the heart of Chicago, I mean the HEART of the city! The Voco Hotel is right on the Chicago River, which gives you SO many options for portraits as well as your first look. The grounds of Voco Hotel offer stunning views of the Chicago River and the skyscrapers towering overhead. Within walking distance though are some other truly iconic locations, like the west end of the Chicago Riverwalk, and the Franklin-Orleans Street Bridge.

The central location makes it simple to travel to other locations throughout the city as well such as Union Station, the Board of Trade Building, or The Art Institute. For more portrait inspiration throughout Chicago check out some of my favorite locations throughout the city!

Logistics for You and Your Guests

Being in the center of the city also keeps things simple in terms of logistics for your wedding day, both for you and your guests! If you do plan on having your ceremony and reception at the Voco Hotel then you don’t have to really worry about travel at all. For those looking to have their ceremony at another location in the city though, having your reception space in a centralized location like the Voco Hotel keeps things relatively easy travel wise. In addition to travel though, the Voco Hotel is a perfect option for your wedding celebration as you and your guests can book the hotel for your stay as well. This practically eliminates the need to plan out where you and your guest’s will stay after celebrating, which lets you focus more on planning and enjoying the rest of your day!
