This past December I got the chance to document Nicolina and Devan’s wedding and WOW did these two put together an incredible day! No exaggeration, I’ve been thinking about their day non stop since it ended, which is why I am SO excited to finally be sharing it with you all. There is a LOT that I love about this wedding, but there’s one secret detail that you just HAVE to see! So take a trip with me out to The Haley Mansion in the suburbs of Chicago and relive one of my favorite weddings with me!

Getting Ready and Portraits at The Haley Mansion

Nicolina and Devan’s wedding day started with them getting ready in the company of their closest friends and family. Seeing these two get ready while surrounded by the love and support of their favorite people really made it clear just how important this day was to everyone involved. Once everyone was ready, and Nicolina had a chance for a first look with her gals and her father, it was time to head to The Haley Mansion.

Outside of The Haley Mansion is where Nicolina and Devan would see each other for the first time on their wedding day. Devan’s face immediately lit up when he saw Nicolina, and for good reason as she looked STUNNING in her dress. I love first looks for a variety of reasons, some of which I’ve talked about previously, like how they let you slow down on your wedding, or how beneficial they are for your timeline. Most importantly though I love the emotions that they bring out of the couple as it makes for such an incredible moment to document! After some couples portraits and wedding party portraits it was time for the ceremony to begin.

Their Jaw Dropping Ceremony

Nicolina and Devan’s wedding ceremony inside of The Haley Mansion was impeccably beautiful from top to bottom. Between the black tie formal attire of their wedding, the regal and historic feel of the mansion, and the abundance of natural lighting, everything lined up to create a one of a kind experience that literally had my jaw on the floor! Not only did the ceremony look beautiful, but it felt beautiful. Each and every person there was so eager to celebrate the love Nicolina and Devan share, something that became very clear as both during and after the ceremony there were plenty of happy tears being shed!

Celebrating Their Forever and Ever

Immediately after the ceremony was over we had some time for more portraits before it was time for the reception to begin. The excitement levels reached a new high for the day as Nicolina, Devan, and their wedding parties entered the reception space! Nicolina and Devan were seated at their sweetheart table for some wonderful speeches, before it was time for the big reveal.

Remember that secret detail I mentioned earlier? Well that would turn out to be a surprise gender reveal through Nicolina and Devan’s cake cutting! The two found out then that they would soon be welcoming their daughter into the world, much to the excitement of EVERYONE in the building!

On that note Nicolina and Devan kicked off the rest of their wedding celebrations at The Haley Mansion, complete with a cigar break for Devan and his guys, some evening portraits of the newlyweds, and enough dancing to last a lifetime!

Documenting Nicolina and Devan’s wedding at The Haley Mansion felt like something straight out of a movie! Every moment felt just right and SO special for these two incredible people. Just like their wedding cake said, these two and their wedding day are going to stick with me forever and ever and I couldn’t be happier!
