Chicago Riverwalk Winter Engagement Session | Arie + Brett

I had SO much fun with Arie and Brett for their engagement session! Their love is so sweet and genuine and they share so much admiration for one another, it was really special being able to capture their love and celebrate their engagement with them. They chose the Chicago Riverwalk and North Avenue Beach for their location and we ended up with the COOLEST winter wonderland for their engagement session.  Arie found me through some IG stalking which I TOTALLY relate to.  I mean c’mon, do we really hire anyone these days without stalking them on the internet first?  The three of us had SO much fun taking their engagement photos and I am so excited to document their wedding in July!

A Little Background

This session is so special to me as it was one of my first sessions here before moving my photography business to Chicago! Before booking me for their engagement session in downtown Chicago Arie and Brett met in college in Atlanta. They’ve now moved to Chicago and are loving it, and I am SO SO excited to photograph their wedding next July. Their love for one another is so special, and while they’re typically a more reserved couple it was so fun getting to know them during their engagement session and getting them to let loose in front of the camera!

Chicago Riverwalk Engagement Session

We started off their engagement session in the heart of downtown on the Chicago Riverwalk. It was FREEZING for our session, but we didn’t let that stop us. One of my favorite things about winter sessions is the variety of clothing options there are, and Arie and Brett had the cutest winter wear for their session. Downtown Chicago was still covered in snow which added such a magical feeling to the city and to their engagement session. Between the beautiful snow, gorgeous sunlight peeking through the buildings, and Arie and Brett’s gigantic smiles there was just SO much to love about our session.

Snowy North Avenue Beach 

After walking around Chicago’s downtown for a while we decided on a change of pace for the next part of their engagement session and headed to nearby North Avenue Beach. I’m so glad we did too as we got a full view of a STUNNING cotton candy sky for the rest of the session. It was seriously so cool having this explosion of color over the city skyline combined with the ice-covered lake. Arie, Brett, and I all had so much fun during their session, I feel like we never stopped smiling and laughing!

I’m so glad that Arie found me through my Instagram and decided to book me as their photographer. These two are some of the sweetest people I’ve met and I can’t wait to celebrate their wedding with them! Congratulations on your engagement Arie and Brett!
