This past September I had the honor of photographing Sabrina and Tom’s wedding at a Chicagoland golf club! As fate would have it, Sabrina was actually my Gamma Chi while at Purdue, so we’ve known one another for years. This made capturing her and Tom’s wedding day, a day focused around spending time with their friends and family, an absolute blast!

First Look and Private Vows

Both Sabrina and Tom started off their wedding day by getting ready separately with their respective wedding parties. Having their friends there with them to start the day was THE best way to get these two hyped up for the first event of their wedding day, the first look! Sabrina and Tom met up in the lobby of their hotel for the first look. The large glass windows of the lobby combined with the marble stairway made for such a gorgeous setting for this moment. Both Sabrina and Tom got a bit emotional for their first look, but their private vows soon after REALLY brought out the waterworks. Talk about an intimate way to start your wedding day! From there it was time to make our way to Makray Golf Club for their wedding ceremony.

Portraits and An Outdoor Wedding Ceremony

Sabrina and Tom’s wedding venue, Makray Golf Club, can be found in Barrington, Illinois. This golf club of the greater Chicagoland area is stunning, and turned out to be the perfect location for Sabrina and Tom’s minimalist yet classic wedding day! Since the two had their first look prior to their ceremony, we opted to get their couples portraits as well as wedding party portraits done ahead of their schedule on the grounds of Makray.

The day had THE perfect amount of overcast to make the lighting ideal for their photos. After we had the portrait photos we wanted it was time for their ceremony to begin. Their ceremony took place outdoors on the grounds of the Makray Golf Club. They wanted to keep their ceremony simple and straightforward, and that is exactly what we did. From there it was time for some family portraits before making our way inside for a riot of a reception!

Something I love about the Makray Golf Club is how classy and stylish it is, both indoors and out! It’s a Chicagoland wedding venue fit for any wedding day! Sabrina and Tom’s reception indoors is an easy contender for the highlight of their day. I mentioned these two wanted to prioritize having fun with their friends and family for their wedding, and boy was their reception fun! Between the lovely speeches from members of their wedding parties, the first dances, and finally when their live band invited everyone on the dancefloor to celebrate with them, Sabrina and Tom couldn’t have asked for a more fun and intentional reception!
