Summer Wedding at the Sky on Nine in Rosemont, IL | Abby and James

Abby and James’ wedding day was a thing of pure joy! The ear to ear smiles, endless sunshine, and their wonderful wedding venue, Sky on Nine in Rosemont, all made for the perfect summer celebration for these two AMAZING people! Their traditional wedding day was so much fun to be a part of, especially the reception as these two know how to throw a party. I can’t wait to share the highlights here with you all, and settle in because there are a LOT of them!

Getting Ready for Their Wedding at Sky on Nine in Rosemont

Even though the end of the day would turn into a party of epic proportions, Abby and James started their day off at a bit of a slower pace. In the company of their closest friends and family, the two took their time getting ready at a hotel near their ceremony venue. This calmer start to the day allowed them to actually relax and be present in every precious moment. Soon it was time for their ceremony, which took place at the St Paul of the Cross church in Park Ridge, Illinois. 

The beautiful and historic church made for the perfect setting for their traditional wedding ceremony. As beautiful as the space was though, nothing compares to the magical moment when Abby and James saw one another for the first time! If it wasn’t clear already just how much this day meant to these two, their faces here should say it all! After the ceremony it was time to head to Sky on Nine in Rosemont for their wedding reception, but not before we took some portrait photos.

Plenty of Portraits!

After the sweet bubble exit that followed Abby and James’ ceremony, we chose to knock out the majority of their portrait photos while we had everyone at the church. This made the flow of their wedding day timeline SO simple, as we were able to take family, wedding party, AND newlywed portraits all in one go. With the lovely brick walls of the St Paul of the Cross church as the backdrop, and the perfect summer day giving us the best vibes to work with, we were able to take care of portraits easily and efficiently. This meant Abby and James got to spend less time worrying about their photos, and more time enjoying themselves which is exactly what they wanted! After finishing up with newlywed portraits the two hopped on their party bus with their friends as we all made our way to Sky on Nine in Rosemont!

Endless Dancing at Sky on Nine in Rosemont

There are a lot of fabulous wedding venues throughout Illinois, each with their own charm and character to them, so it’s always a pleasure when my couples find a venue that fits their vision perfectly! This was exactly the case for Abby and James as I couldn’t imagine a better setting than Sky on Nine in Rosemont for their celebrations. The stunning and gorgeous white interior, and the blue summer sky that was shining through the windows, perfectly matched Abby and James’ wedding colors. 

Sky on Nine is more than just its beautiful setting though! The service staff here is wonderful as well, and with plenty of space for Abby, James, and their loved ones to enjoy themselves, it was clear from the moment we walked in that tonight was going to be special! The night easily surpassed my wildest expectations though, as every moment felt one of a kind. From the emotional, tear jerking toasts, to the STUNNING sunset portraits of Abby and James, everything came together beautifully. The grand finale of course was the absolutely packed dance floor, where Abby and James were able to dance the night away with all of their friends and family!
